Possible Cause
Ignition system out of order
D Faulty ignition coil or high-tension cord
Engine and Emission control system
out of order.
D Fuel pressure out of specification
D Lead contamination of three way catalytic
converter (if equipped)
D Malfunctioning PCV system
D Faulty EVAP control system
D Closed loop system (A / F feed back
compensation) fails (vehicle with HO2S)
– Faulty TP sensor
– Faulty ECT sensor or MAP sensor
– Faulty HO2S
D Maladjusted CO adjusting resistor
(vehicle without HO2S)
D Faulty injector
D Faulty ECM
Low compression
Engine and emission control system
D Fuel pressure out of specification
D Lead contamination of three way catalytic
converter (if equipped)
