Fuel Pump, Filter and Pressure
Regulator - Rocket III Touring
Removal
1.
Remove the fuel tank (see page
11-153).
Observe the
given in the general
information sed ion on the safe handling of fuel and fuel
containers.
A fire, causing personal injury and damage to property
could result from spilled fuel or fuel not handled or
stored correctly.
Never drain fuel from the tank
non-approved,
non-professional standard fuel handling equipment. A
fire causing destruction of property and injury to
persons may result from use of non-approved fuel
handling equipment.
2.
Using proprietary professional automotive workshop
equipment approved for fuel handling, drain all fuel
from the fuel tank.
3.
Invert the fuel tank and place on a protective surface
to prevent paint damage.
4.
Release the ring of nuts securing the fuel pump
mounting plate to the tank.

5.
Separate the pump/filter/regulator assembly from
the fuel tank. Discard the pump plate seal.
Note:
To remove the pressure regulator, filter and
pump, components must be removed in
sequence, as follows below/over.

Detach the bafne hose from the fuel pressure
regulator and mounting bar.

Release the filter retaining strap and remove the filter
from the fuel pump bafne.
