Gear Position Sensor - Rocket III and Classic

P070S Gear position sensor circuit fault View & note "freeze frame" data if
available.
View
& note "sensor" data
Ensure sensor connector is secure.
Disconnect ECM and proceed to
pinpoint test 1;-

Action
1 Check cable and terminal integrity; OK Disconnect sensor and proceed to test 2
- ECM pin A26
Faulty
Rectil'y fault, proceed to test S
2 Check cable for short circuit: OK Proceed to test 3
- ECM pin A26 to ground
Short circuit
Locate and rectil'y wiring fault, proceed to test
S
3 Check cable continuity; OK Proceed to test 4
- ECM pin A26 to sensor pin 1 Open circuit
Locate and rectil'y wiring fault, proceed to test
- ECM pin A 19 to sensor pin 2
S
4 Check cable for short circuit: OK Renew gear position sensor and contact pin
and proceed to test S
- Sensor pin 1 to sensor pin 2 Short circuit Locate and rectil'y wiring fault, proceed to test
S
S Reconnect harness, clear fault code.
OK
Action complete, quit test
Fault still present Contact Triumph service
