3.2.10 Set or query device configuration settings

This section provides overview of configuration settings and related configuration
options. It also provides helpful guidelines for creating mobile and location-based
applications, general information about how you can write configuration and alarm
codes for MAMBOII devices.
All parameter settings supported by the firmware version 2.4.0
transmitted to the target device using the $PFAL,Cnf.Set,<parameter> command,
where the <parameter> field can be one of the parameter within this section.
To modify the present configuration settings on a MAMBOII device, just send that
parameter name with new settings to the device.
For example:
1- by default device name is "DEVICE.NAME=unnamed MAMBOII",
to overwrite this name, just send e.g. "PFAL,Cnf.Set,DEVICE.NAME=Raul" to
the target device. From now on the device name is "Raul" and not "unnamed
MAMBOII".
In this way you can quickly and easily modify all configuration settings to your
application needs.
MAMBOII provides three different types of settings:

User Settings
•
Factory settings
•
Default settings
Setting types Meaning
User Settings It is only for special configuration settings, which are set/defined by the user. This configuration can
be deleted whenever the $PFAL,Sys.Device.FactoryReset command is sent to the device by the
user.
Factory Settings It consists of the factory-preloaded configuration settings. The user has the possibility to personalize
this configuration (overwriting with new ones). To reset the MAMBOII device to the Factory
Settings, just send the command $PFAL,Sys.Device.FactoryReset to the MAMBOII. In this case
the User Settings are no longer available.
Default Setting It is about basis configurations that the MAMBOII unit needs during each system startup. This
configuration is required to enable the MAMBOII device to run firmly. Default settings are always
called up, if there are no settings available in the User Settings. If, for whatever reason a parameter
setting is deleted, then the system calls up the Default Settings for that parameter.
Remark: Default Setting can only be overwritten, but not deleted.

Each parameter name is distinguished as alone subsection. Two tables are given within
a subsection. The first table shows the parameter syntax

how the parameter can be configured and sent to the MAMBOII device. In each
chapter below you will find examples, which only demonstrate how to define user
settings to each supported field. Additionally, the checksum in the examples below is
omitted.
IMPORTANT:
The name of all parameters listed within this chapter is case sensitive and MUST be
written in capital letters. No user-settings will be updated in the FLASH memory, if there
are differences between upper- and lower-case letters.
