    FOX3-KMD is equipped with SIM-Chips, so there is no need for using a SIM card. The SIM chips should be activated before putting the device into the operation. The physical interface to the devices application is made through integrated 8pin main port.

    Check the laws and regulations on the use of cellular devices in the area where you drive. Always obey them. Also, when using your FOX3-KMD while driving, please pay full attention to driving, pull off the road and park before making or answering a call if driving conditions so require. When applications are prepared for mobile use, they should fulfil road-safety instructions of the current law! 2.4.

    5.2. Determining the External Equipment Type Before you connect the serial port pins of the FOX3-KMD devices to an external equipment, you need to determine if the external hardware serial ports are configured as DTE (Data Terminal Equipment) or DCE (Data Communications Equipment).

    How to use I/O1 (pin 4) This pin has dual functions. It is controlled by the internal firmware of FOX3-KMD. Therefore, the user must define whether to use it as analog or digital pin. The configured digital pin can also be used as input or output while the if configured as analog pin it can only be used as input.

    How to connect and communicate with FOX3-KMD To power on and communicate with FOX3-KMD device, you have to connect the power line to an external power source ranging from 10.8 – 32VD and connect the serial port lines to your COM port on your PC as shown below.

    Do not mount the antenna visible on the dashboard but mount it in a location underneath the dashboard. Hiding the antenna is key to successful security in the event of theft. FOX3-KMD devices generate events in case of the GNNS antenna is connected, disconnected or cut off. If an intruder cuts off the GNNS antenna cable, an event is generated which can be used to trigger alarm notifications to the user.
