Replicating to a target system

Replicating a virtual tape library
6. Click Apply. The Source Role NAS page appears.
The Source Replication pages differ depending on the type of data
being replicated (virtual tape library or share). The following sections
provide information for your specific data type:
Replicating a virtual tape library. See
library" on page
149.
Running cartridge-based replication. See
cartridge-based replication" on page
Replicating a NAS share. See
page
152.
Running directory/file-based replication. See
directory/file-based replication" on page
You can schedule namespace replication to occur at a specified day
and time or manually run namespace replication on virtual tape
libraries that have replication enabled. Namespace replication copies
the current namespace description of the contents of the VTL
replicated to the target system allowing it to become a recoverable
image at the target system.
Note: For optimization purposes, the underlying data is continuously
updated and will become available when a namespace replication is either
run manually or scheduled.
Scheduling namespace replication
Virtual tape libraries enabled for namespace replication continuously
replicate their unique data to the target system. The VTLs become
recoverable at the target system only when their respective
namespaces (that describes their content) are also replicated.
Replicating the namespace will be most efficient when it is scheduled
to occur towards the end of the replication window for a backup job.
To schedule checkpoint replication on a virtual tape library:
1. On the Source Role page, click VTL.
