b. Primary Domain Controller: Select Use DNS discovery if
DNS is working.
If DNS is not working or if you cannot ping abc.def.xyz.com,
then use the IP address of the PDC explicitly.
If you cannot ping the domain name abc.def.xyz.com, you
cannot join successfully unless you can resolve
abc.def.xyz.com using the command:
# host abc.def.xyz.com ip_address
where ip_address is the IP address of DNS as specified at the
bottom of the network page.
c. Organizational Unit: This is optional. Usually a default
organizational unit such as Computers exists. If you want to
join an organizational unit that is different from the default,
then type the name of that organizational unit as it appears in
MMC.
d. Type the Administrator name and the password.
Use the Access Control section to add or edit workgroup users.
Note: For an ADS CIFS configuration, you do not need to configure
workgroup users.
To access the Access Control page, on the NAS page, click Access
Control.
Note: To edit a workgroup user, click
appears.
To add a workgroup user:
1. Click Add.
Note: If you are editing a workgroup user, you can change only the local
user description or password.
The Add Workgroup Users page appears.
