Configuring directory/file-based replication on a NAS share
3. Set the Sync ID on the Cartridge based Targets page:
Note: You must specify the Sync ID first at the target system and use the
same Sync ID at the source system. The Sync ID creates the match
between the source and the target. Sync ID can be a string (with no
special characters), but you must set the same value on both the target
and source systems.
a. On the Replication page, click Target Role. The Target Role
page appears.
b. On the Target Role VTL page, click Cartridge Based Target.
The Cartridge Based Target page appears.
c. Select Enable as a Cartridge Based Replication Target and
type a Sync ID in the edit box.
d. Select Unlocked to allow this virtual tape library to be used as
a Cartridge Based Replication target. Select Locked to deny
use of this partition as a Cartridge Based Replication target.
The VTL cartridge-based replication configuration is completed at
the target system.
In addition to adding the source hostname or IP address on a target
system, you must follow these steps to configure directory/file-based
replication on the target system.
To configure directory/file-based replication:
1. Add a source hostname or IP address on the target system. See
"Setting up the target DL3D appliance" on page
2. Create a NAS share that will receive the replicated
directories/files. See
