Once NetBackup is installed, must register the storage servers with
NetBackup by adding the storage server to the NetBackup
configuration.
To add the storage server to NetBackup:
1. Type this command to add the storage server to NetBackup:
/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/nbdevconfig –creatests
–storage_server <storage-server-name> -stype EMC
–media_server <media_servername> -st 9
The storage server name should not resolve to an IP address on a
media server host. The storage server name should be in the
following format:
<storage server name as entered in DL3D GUI>_<IP address of
DL3D interface>
Example:
• Adding a storage server by name: server1_10.180.12.205
• Adding a media server by name: nbumedia.emc.com
/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/nbdevconfig –creatests
-storage_server server1_10.180.12.205 –stype EMC
–media_server
nbumedia.emc.com –st 9
2. Type this command to add the credentials of the storage server:
/usr/openv/volmgr/bin/tpconfig -add –storage_server
<storage_server_name> -stype EMC –sts_user_id ndmpuser
-password password
Example:
Adding credentials for storage server: server1_10.180.12.205
/usr/openv/volmgr/bin/tpconfig -add –storage_server
Server1_10.180.12.205 –stype EMC –sts_user_id ndmpuser
-password password
OST tpconfig credentials should match that of NDMP PTT
credentials.
