5. Select an Initial Location where the imported cartridge will be
located. The available locations are I/E station or Storage Slot.
6. Click Apply.
The selected tape cartridges are imported into the virtual tape library.
The Export page allows you to export offline media from a virtual
partition to a physical library. The data from the virtual tape cartridge
is written to a physical tape cartridge and then moved to an
import/export station on the physical library.
CAUTION
If you export virtual media with data written to it and there is no
corresponding physical media to write the data to, the data on the
virtual media is lost. If you recycle the virtual media, the data is
discarded and lost.
To export offline media in a physical library to a physical library
export station:
1. To reduce the number of tape cartridges displayed on the Export
page, enter a barcode that the system can use to filter the tape
cartridges. For example, entering LTO in the Barcode Filter edit
box displays only tape cartridges with barcodes beginning with
LTO.
2. Select the checkbox next to the media you want to export to a
physical library export station.
3. Click Apply.
The offline cartridge is moved to the library export station.
The Pending Actions page lists media with a pending action that
may be cancelled.
To access the Media page, click Auto Archive on the PTT page. To
access the Pending Actions page, in the Physical section, click
Pending Actions. The Pending Actions page appears.
