3. Select a virtual action to perform:
• Archive Data - This action moves a virtual tape cartridge to a
physical tape cartridge and retains a virtual copy in the virtual
tape library after the move is complete. Selected cartridges
may be in identical states.
• Delete - This action deletes tape cartridges from the partition.
Selected media must be in exported state.
Note: You must remove the physical tapes before deleting the virtual
tapes.
• Export - This action moves a virtual tape cartridge to a
physical tape cartridge. The virtual copy of the tape cartridge
will be deleted from the partition after the move is complete.
This action should be performed in the event that an export
cannot be performed from the backup application. Selected
cartridges may be in archived, direct access, identical, scratch
or virtual state. Export is available only for virtual cartridges
with barcodes matching barcodes in physical library.
• Export Behavior - This action assigns an export rule to the
selected cartridges. The available export rules are I/E station
or storage slot. The action is available only for virtual
cartridges with barcodes that match barcodes in physical
library. It applies only to cartridges that are not purely virtual
and they must have a corresponding physical cartridge.
• Import Behavior - This action assigns an access state to the
selected tape cartridges when they are imported back into the
DL3D 3000 system. The available access rules are: Scratch,
Direct Access, or Virtual. This action is available only for
virtual cartridges with barcodes that match barcodes in
physical library. It applies only to cartridges that are not
purely virtual and they must have a corresponding physical
cartridge.
To reduce the number of tape cartridges displayed on the Virtual
Actions page, enter a barcode that the system can use to filter the
tape cartridges. For example, entering LTO in the Barcode Filter
edit box displays only tape cartridges with barcodes beginning
with LTO.
