2. Delegate the right to read/write dNSHostname and
servicePrincipal name:
a. Select the organizational unit Computers or the appropriate
name. This is the folder that contains individual computers
that belong to the domain.
b. Right-click and select Delegate Control. Click Add.
c. Type the username: user1
d. Click Next.
e. Click Create a custom task to delegate.
f. Click Next.
g. Click Computer objects and Create select objects in this
folder.
h. Click Property-specific.
i. Scroll down the list and select the following:
– Read dNSHostName
– Write dNSHostName
– Read servicePrincipalName
– Write servicePrincipalName
j. Click Finish.
Perform the following steps:
1. On the Network page, type the Hostname: DL3D1
a. Type the domain name: abc.def.xyz.com. This is the DNS
domain name. The DNS domain name is usually, but not
necessarily, identical to the ADS domain name.
b. Type the domain name server IP address: 10.20.30.40. This is
the IP address of the domain server that can resolve the
domain name abc.def.xyz.com that you are trying to join.
2. On the Windows Domain page, select Active Directory as the
domain type.
a. Domain name Type: abc.def.xyz.com
Note: You must use a fully qualified domain name; character case is not
important.
