2. Maintenance

General
Examine
discoloration, cracking, or other physical damage. Replace
switch if such damage is noticed.
Use an ohmmeter set to a low resistance scale to measure
resistance across the switch. In a closed position, the switch
should be less than 1 ohm. In an open position, the switch
should show a resistance greater than 10 megohms.
With the battery connected, use a voltmeter to check for
voltage on both the positive and negative side of the switch
while in the closed position. The voltage must be the same on
both sides of the switch. If not, the switch is worn or bad.
Main ON/OFF Switch Inspection
To inspect switch proceed as follows:
1. With the battery plugged in and main ON/OFF
switch (S21) in the ON position, battery voltage B+
must be present on the two terminals of the switch.
2. Test main ON/OFF switch with an ohmmeter after
disconnecting the battery and removing the wires
from the switch terminals.
3. In the OFF position, the ohmmeter must read
greater than 1 megohm. In the ON position, the
ohmmeter must read less than 1 ohm. If not,
replace switch.
Adjustment of Arm Angle Switches
To adjust switches, proceed as follows:
1. Press red OFF button "O" on the keypad. Depress
main ON/OFF switch to the OFF position.
2. Disconnect the battery connector from the truck.
