Swing Out Battery Pack

1. Theory of Operation

The truck may be equipped with a multiple battery pack, or a
maintenance-free battery and charger.

2. Maintenance

Battery electrolyte is a solution of sulfuric
WARNING
acid and water. Battery acid causes burns.
Should any electrolyte come in contact with
clothing or skin, flush the area immediately
with cold water. Should the solution get on
your face or in the eyes, flush the area with
cold water and receive medical attention
immediately.

2.1. Electrical Testing

2.1.1. Required Equipment

1. Common hand tools.
2. AC/DC volt/ohm meter.
3. Battery connector with + to - loop (use on charger
only.)
4. Battery hydrometer.

2.1.2. Instructions

1. Check condition of batteries (check each cell.)
a. Specific gravity, before and after charging.
Acceptable values:
Dead battery - 1.180
Fully charged battery - 1.280
