Cleaning Fuel Filter
This job should not be done in the field, but in a clean place.
1. Close the fuel filter cock (1).
2. Unscrew the screw ring and remove the fuel filter bowl (2), and
rinse the inside with kerosene.
3. Take out the filter element (4) and dip it in the kerosene to rinse.
4. After cleaning, reassemble the fuel filter, keeping out dust and
dirt.
5. Bleed the fuel system. (See page G-34.)
IMPORTANT
• If dust and dirt enters the fuel system the fuel pump and
injection nozzles are subject to premature wear. To prevent
this, be sure to clean the fuel filter and element bowl
periodically.
