The cassette lifter fails to move up.

Step
1
Slide out the cassette, and move up
the holding plate inside the cassette
by hand. Does it move smoothly?

Is the movement of the latch
assembly of the grip on the cassette
normal?

Push down the pickup roller
releasing lever with your finger.
Does the pickup roller move down?

Is the lifter sensor normal?

Turn off the power switch, and
disconnect the connectors J1020,
J1019, and J1018 on the DC driver
PCB. Set the meter range to
x100Ω, and measure the resistance
between the following terminals; is
it about 60Ω?
M11:
J1020-A1, -2A
M12, DM12: J1019-B4, -5B
M13, DM13: J1018-B4, -5B

Connect the connectors, and turn
on the power switch. Set the meter
range to 30 VDC. Does the voltage
between the following terminals
change from about 0 to about 24 V
when the cassette is slid in?
M11:
J1020-A1 (+), -A2
M12, DM12: J1019-B4 (+), -B5
M13, DM13: J1018-B4 (+), -B5

assembly, and check the
spring and the lever

wiring; if normal,
replace the sensor.

motor; if normal, replace
the motor.

Remove the pickup
assembly, and check the
gear; if normal, replace
the motor.
NO
Replace the DC driver
PCB or the CPU PCB.
(After replacement,
execute the work under
II. H. 10. or II. H. 1.)
