Step
Checks

Clear E000, and turn on the power
switch. Does the fixing heater turn
on when the power switch is turned
on?
· Make a visual check. Be user to
turn off the power switch
immediately after a check.

Slide out the fixing unit, and let the
fixing roller cool. Then, set the
fixing unit, and turn on the power
switch.
Start service mode, and select
COPIER>DISPLAY>ANALOG.
Does the reading of the
temperature of the following
thermistors (THM1 through
THM4) increase gradually?
FIX-UC: THM1 (fixing upper
roller center)
FIX-LC: THM3 (fixing lower
roller center)
FIX-UE: THM2 (fixing upper
roller ends)
FIX-LE: THM4 (fixing lower
roller ends)

Is each fixing thermistor in even
contact with the fixing roller?

Clean the area of contact between
each fixing thermistor and the
fixing roller. Is the problem
corrected?
5
Does the problem occur only when
the copier is turned on first time (in
the morning)?
6
Replace SSR1. Is the problem
corrected?
