DS0 Limitation
DS0 Limitation limits available physical interface. To limit a certain amount
of max calls coming through PBX, it blocks a part of the channels in E1/T1
trunk, which is connected to PBX, in order to decrease DS0 in the system.
It is possible to avoid heavy traffic that is more than the planned bandwidth in
the network by using Physical DS0 timeslot. It is also possible to not generate
CPU overhead, and provide additional service in toll by pass.
Using this kind of method, it is available to cope with busy-hour of heavy
traffic.
Max call per dial-peer
Provides a way to limit the number of max connection of Dial-peer. A user is
able to set this using 'max-conn' command in dial-peer configuration mode.
This is a way to control connection number available at the same time in Dial-
peer for Outbound, in order that current connection may not exceed the
connection number set.
This tool is easy to use but limited in the scope of the network design
problems it can solve. Because it is applied per dial peer, it is not possible to
limit the total number of calls the outgoing gateway can have active
simultaneously unless you have a limited number of dial peers and you use the
max-call command on each one.
