CHAPTER 26. Voice Feature
Security
Ubigate iBG3026 provides such functions as S/MIME, TLS, sRTP and IPSec
to ensure voice security.
S/MIME and TLS ensure security for SIP signaling, and sRTP ensures security
for media. IPSec ensures security not only for signaling and media but also for
all information between two devices connected via IPSec.
S/MIME (Secure MIME)
S/MIME provides an end-to-end security function for the SIP messages
transceived from/to a network entity. That is, only the final terminal over an IP
network can interpret the message encrypted with S/MIME, and the Call
Manager, Softswitch, etc. which are on the way cannot.
TLS
TLS can provide an Hop-by-Hop Security function for the SIP messages
transceived from/to a network entity.
sRTP (Secure RTP)
sRTP is the function to encode and transceive the End-to-End RTP data over
IP network to prevent the wiretapping of conversation.
IPSec
IPSec function is used to encode and transceive all packet data between two
nodes connected via IPSec. Since both SIP/H.323 signaling and RTP are a
type of packet data, they are transceived after being encoded. It is usually used
for Ubigate iBG3026-Call Manager or between Ubigate iBG3026s.

Call Routing

The calls incoming to a Ubigate iBG3026 can be outbound to PSTN such as
Port and Trunk Group, or to the VoIP network such as H.323 Session Target or
SIP Session Target. Routing Control is the procedure to determine the route,
out of various destinations, where a call will be outbound. The final routing
route is determined depending on various settings such as Dian Plan,
Preference, Hunting Scheme, etc.
