The MPLS architecture defines the components of the forwarding information
base(FIB) as follows:
Next Hop Label Forwarding Entry(NHLFE): An entry containing next-hop
information(interface and next-hop address) and label manipulation
instructions; it may also include label encoding, L2 encapsulation
information, and other information required for processing packets in the
associated stream.
Incoming Label Map(ILM): A mapping from incoming labels to
corresponding NHLFEs.
FEC-to-NHLFE map(FTN): A mapping from the FEC of any incoming
packets to corresponding NHLFEs.
Existing FIB design must be enhanced to support the FTN and ILM table
for MPLS packet forwarding.

QoS

MPLS EXP bit based QoS behavior will be implemented in the Ubigate
product. With this an MPLS EXP table will be defined. This table provides
DSCP to EXP bit mapping in the ingress scenario, as well as rewriting of EXP
bit in the transit scenario(EXP to EXP mapping), if desired.
The user will statically provision this table:
The Class Map, which identifies the class of traffic parameter to map
The EXP bit to map based on this class, and the traffic parameter, for either
traffic policing or for traffic shaping.

Martini L2 VPN Overview

An L2 VPN leverages the MPLS tunneling capability to extend a Layer-2
network and allows bridging of remote subnet with Virtual Circuits(VCs).
A Virtual Circuit is a pair of LSPs in opposite directions allowing bidirectional
traffic. That is, a VC is a bidirectional virtual link that bridges remote subnet.
