Differentiated Services

The iBG3026 operating system is fully compliant with the DiffServ Code
Point specification. For more information refer to RFC 3290, RFC 3260, and
RFC 2998.
Assured Forwarding (AF), Expedited
Forwarding (EF), and Class Selector Code
Points (CSCP)
In CBQ scheduling and shaping there is no implicit treatment given for
DiffServ code points. You have full flexibility in assigning the required
scheduling priorities through policy-class CBQ priority configuration.
However in queuing, the WRED functionality uses color coding information
extracted from DiffServ code point and is used as drop precedence. In the case
of policing with color-aware mode, the initial color is extracted from the
DiffServ code point. For the expedited traffic, the color code will be set as
'Green'.
For example, the following command sequence configures the proper
treatment for AF11(DSCP = 10) traffic.
Router/configure# interface bundle wan1
configuring new WAN bundle interface wan1
/bundle wan1# link t1 1/1
Router/configure/interface/bundle wan1# encap ppp
Router/configure/interface/bundle wan1# ip address 23.1.1.1 24
Router/configure/interface/bundle wan1# qos

If DS-RED is configured for a given DSCP, then those RED
parameters will be instead. Otherwise, color RED parameters will be
used.
