Establishing L2VPN with VLAN filtering on PW interface
An extension to the L2VPN design is to provide enhanced functionality for
Ethernet traffic, where the VLAN ID of the Ethernet packet can be used for
selecting the actual packets to be forwarded via the L2VPN tunnels. When
binding an MPLS L2 Circuit to an Ethernet or PPP interface, with the VLAN
encapsulation type, users can specify the VLAN IDs for classifying traffic to
flow through a specific MPLS L2VPN tunnel:
1.
Only packets matching the list of configured VLANs will be forwarded
through the L2VPN tunnel.
2.
ALL-VLAN option will default the L2VPN behavior back to the current
design, where all traffic from the interface will be forwarded through the
LSP.
The following example binds the L2 circuit on PE1 with VLAN filtering
enabled. Only packets coming in on the PE1 PW interface with VLAN ID 10
are forwarded to the remote end through L2VPN. All other packets are
dropped.
