Commands for Managing the Switch

enable system-watchdog

enable system-watchdog
Description
Enables the system watchdog timer.
Syntax Description
This command has no arguments or variables.
Default
Enabled.
Usage Guidelines
The watchdog timer reboots the switch if the CPU becomes trapped in a processing loop. If the
watchdog timer is executed, the switch captures information on the cause of the reboot and posts it to
the system log.
To viewthe watchdog status of the switch, use the
command.
show switch
Example
The following command enables the watchdog timer:
enable system-watchdog

This command was first available in ExtremeWare 6.1.9.
This command was added to the Summit "e" series of switches in ExtremeWare 7.2e.
Platform Availability
This command is available on all platforms.
