Appendix G
Focusing the Image
Follow these guidelines to obtain a clear image of the orifice on the computer screen:
• Make sure the orifice is aligned with the camera lens.
• Be sure the orifice tube is not too close to the beaker. There should be
approximately 1/2 to 1 inch (12.7 to 25.4 mm) between the orifice tube and the
inside of the beaker.
• Position the orifice light approximately an inch (25.4 mm) away from the reflector
so that it shines into the middle of the reflector.
Allow 1/2 to 1 inch
between orifice
tube and beaker
Align orifice
with lens
• Use the focusing ring and horizontal and vertical knobs to adjust the image
