    If equipment is damaged or lost in transit, you are required to make note of the damage or loss on the freight bill. The freight carrier, not Micromeritics, is responsible for all damage or loss occurring during shipment. If you discover damage or loss of equipment during shipment, report the condition to the carrier immediately.
  • Page 8 MicroStar 022 Pack the instrument in its original shipping carton if possible. If the original carton is unavailable, for a nominal fee, Micromeritics can provide another carton for your use. Failure to package your instrument properly may result in shipping damage.

    MicroStar 022 Installation Installation These instructions are for basic installation of the MicroStar system. If you are connecting the MicroStar to the AutoChem, complete the basic installation of the MicroStar, then refer to Appendix A, page 2-21 for information on interface with the AutoChem.

Using a flat-blade screwdriver, rotate the selector switch to the 110 position (for 100 to 120 operation). d. Place the cover onto the system and reinsert the screws to secure the cover.
  • Page 11 MicroStar 022 Installation Loosen the four captive screws on the capillary inlet access plate (located on the upper front panel), then remove the plate. Captive screws Locate a Teflon front ferrule, a nylon rear ferrule, and a stainless steel nut in the Accessories kit.

    MicroStar 022 Installation Installing the Software The MicroStar system includes Quadera software and TAMS software. The Quadera software is used to configure connections for the MicroStar. The TAMS software is used primarily for operating the MicroStar, but does require some configuration. Manuals for each program will be installed in their respective directory.

    Configuration MicroStar 022 Configuration Ethernet Before proceeding: • Disconnect all ethernet cables, including any network cables, except the one connecting the MicroStar and the computer • Disable any wireless connection Access the computer Control Panel and select Network Connections; the Network Connections dialog is displayed.

  • Page 23 MicroStar 022 Maintenance Disconnect the tubing from the pump using a 9/16-in. hex wrench. Turn the hex nut counterclockwise until the connector (with tubing attached) is released from the pump. Knurled nut Hex nut Do not remove the knurled nut. Doing so could damage the tubing.

    . A cable (Micromeritics’ part number 022-63802-00) has been specifically designed to provide the hardware interface between the two instruments. The single-connector end of the cable is attached to the mass spectrometer with an extension cable (Micromeritics’ part number 003-60634-00). The double-connector end (consisting of small and large connectors) of the cable is connected to the AutoChem.
