Pump Filter Vapor Trap Filter Reservoir Bottle Nozzle The Mercury QuikVac is simply designed and easy to maintain and operate. It contains a small nozzle, which is used to pick up minor mercury spills.

Installation Mercury QuikVac Installation The Mercury QuikVac is shipped with all components installed with the exception of the fuses and the power cord. 1. Place the unit on a work table so that the back panel can be accessed. Power Cord Connector On/Off Switch Fuse Block 2. - Page 7 Mercury QuikVac Installation Remove the fuse holder from the housing. Insert a fuse on each side of the fuse holder. Fuse Fuse Fuse the input power line according to local safety practices. The fuses used in the Mercury QuikVac must be identical in type and rating to those specified. Use of other fuses could result in electrical shock or damage to the instrument.

Operation Mercury QuikVac Operation Before using the Mercury QuikVac, you may wish to add a little oil to the reservoir bottle. This helps to prevent the escape of mercury vapors. You may also wish to use latex gloves in the event you accidentally touch the mercury. -

Mercury QuikVac Maintenance Maintenance Disposing of the Mercury Empty the reservoir bottle when appropriate. 1. Remove the reservoir bottle from its platform and place on a work table. 2. Holding the cap, turn the reservoir bottle clockwise until it is removed from the cap. 3. -

Maintenance Mercury QuikVac Changing the Pump Filter Occasionally inspect the pump filter and change if it contains an accumulation of debris. 1. Remove the reservoir bottle from its platform and place on a work table. 2. Pull the tubing from the barb on the cap of the reservoir bottle. 3. - Page 11 Mercury QuikVac Maintenance Changing the Vapor Trap Filter The vapor trap filter should be changed annually if the QuikVac has received substantial use. 1. Pull the filter from its snap-in holder. 2. Holding onto the tubing, pull away the filter and discard. 3.
