Follow-up Procedure
After replacing the SPU, collect all tools. If the replaced SPU is faulty, fill in the
Transmission Sheet
equipment supplier or the specified repair service provider.

3.1.6 Replacing the SPC of the SPU

This section describes the precautions and procedures for replacing the SPC of the SPU.
Context
The new SPC must be the same type as the one to be replaced.

Procedure
Step 1 Check the location of the SPC to be replaced.
Before pulling out the SPC to be replaced first check the location of the SPC, that is, the
cabinet, chassis, and SPU where the SPC resides. Then, locate the SPC to be replaced in the
chassis and label the SPC.
Step 2 Check whether there is any bent pin in the connector of the new SPC.
Step 3 Power off the SPC to be replaced.
Use either of the following methods:

Step 4 Pull out the SPC to be replaced from the SPU.

ESD wrist strap or ESD gloves

NOTE
l Before replacing an SPC, power it off. If you remove a SPC while it is running and then insert
another one, the SPC and its SPU may not work properly.
l After powering off the SPC, the number of device CPUs. In this case, sessions reselect CPUs based
on the hash algorithm. If the selected CPU is different from the previous one, the session will be
interrupted, and the service will re-initiate a connection.
Press and hold the OFL button on the panel of the SPC for six seconds until the OFL
indicator turns red for one second and then turns off.
In the user view, run the power off slot slot-id card card-id command.
Put on the ESD wrist strap and connect the ground terminal to the ESD jack on the rack.
Using the Phillips screwdriver, turn the two captive screws counter-clockwise to loosen
them, as shown in Figure 3-13
