4-1. FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM
FUEL INJECTOR CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION
DETECTED CONDITION
CPS signals produced but fuel injector
signal is interrupted continuous by 4 times
or more.
Step 1
1) Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2) Check the injector coupler for loose or poor
contacts.
If OK, then measure the injector resistance.
3) Disconnect the injector coupler and measure
the resistance between terminals.
Injector resistance:
Approx. 11.7 Ω at 20 °C (68 °F)
(Terminal – Terminal)
4) If OK, then check the continuity between
each terminal and ground.
STP sensor continuity: ∞ Ω (Infinity)
Are the resistance and continuity OK?
YES
Go to step 2
NO
Replace the injector with a new one.
5) After repairing the trouble, clear the DTC
using Diagnosis tool.
Step 2
1) Turn the ignition switch ON.
2) Measure the injector voltage between R wire
and ground.
Injector voltage: Battery voltage
(+ R – - Ground)
4-1-44
POSSIBLE CAUSE
• Injector circuit open or short
• Injector malfunction
• ECU malfunction
