Datalogic Handheld Data Format Requirements
The following sections describe label transmission formats that are typically
observed in factory configurations of Datalogic handheld scanners.
UPC-A
•
Number system must be included in label data
•
Check digit must be included in label data and is assumed to be correct
•
Prefix must be an ASCII character 'A' - total length including prefix must
be 13
•
Example: 'A060992011187'
UPC-A with 2-Digit Supplemental
•
Number system must be included in label data
•
Check digit must be included in label data and is assumed to be correct
•
Supplemental data is appended to base label
•
Prefix must be an ASCII character 'A' - total length including prefix must
be 15
•
Example: 'A06099201118712'
UPC-A with 5-Digit Supplemental
•
Number system must be included in label data
•
Check digit must be included in label data and is assumed to be correct
•
Prefix must be an ASCII character 'A' - total length including prefix must
be 18
•
Example: 'A06099201118712345'
UPC-A with Code128 Supplemental
•
Number system must be included in label data
•
Check digit must be included in label data and is assumed to be correct
•
Supplemental data is appended to base label
•
Prefix must be an ASCII character 'A' - total length including prefix must
be greater or equal to 19 (code 128 supplemental codes are variable
length having a minimum of 2 data characters)
•
Characters immediately following base label must be of the form '8100',
'8101' or '8102'
•
Example: 'A0609920111878100000951'
UPC-E
•
Number system must be included in label data
•
Check digit must be included in label data and is assumed to be correct
•
Prefix must be an ASCII character 'E' - total length including prefix must
be 9
•
Example: 'E09988750'
