It is essential to switch the unit off and to wait at least another 4 minutes
before starting the repair or taking off a cover panel!
9.11.1

Replacing the X-ray tube assembly

Check that the tube assembly is compatible with your device:
Device type
ORTHOPHOS XG 3D
ORTHOPHOS XG 3D/Ceph

ORTHOPHOS XG 3D/Ceph
IMPORTANT
Importance of the tube assembly version
Depending on the device serial number or tube assembly version, the
tube assembly installed in your device may differ slightly from the figures
in this section.
1. Remove the "Front tube assembly" and "Rear tube assembly" covers
[ → 41].
2. Remove the diaphragm unit as described in the chapter entitled
Replacing the diaphragm unit [ → 404].
3. Remove the ferrite core and cable shielding from the cover plate.
4. Loosen the four screws (A) and remove cover plate B incl. the cable
shielding (L3). Caution! Also pull cable L3 off connector X3 and the
ground cable off connector X304 (tube assembly 1.0) or X103 (tube
assembly 2.0) on board DX6.
