The ip default-gateway Global Configuration mode command defines a default
gateway (device). Use the no form of this command to restore the default
configuration.
Syntax
ip-address
ip default-gateway
no ip default-gateway
Parameters
ip-address
— Specifies the valid IP address of the currently defined default
gateway.
Default Configuration
No default gateway is defined.
Command Mode
Global Configuration mode
User Guidelines
This command is only operational in Switch mode.
Example
The following example defines default gateway 192. 1 68. 1 . 1 .
Console(config)# ip default-gateway 192.168.1.1
