Remove the starter motor case/armature from the
rear cover.
Remove the O-ring from the starter motor case.
Remove the armature from the motor case.
Remove the brushes and springs from the brush
holder.
Check for continuity between starter motor cable
terminal and positive brushes.
There should be continuity.
Check for continuity between positive brushes and
rear cover.
There should be no continuity.
Check for continuity between positive and negative
brushes.
There should be no continuity.
