CRANKCASE/CRANKSHAFT
CRANKCASE SEPARATION
Refer to Service Information (page 14-3) for removal
of necessary parts before separating the crankcase.
PIVOT BOLT TENSIONER SLIDER
Remove the cam chain and oil pump chain from the
drive sprocket.
Remove the cam chain tensioner pivot bolt and
tensioner slider from the crankcase.
OIL PUMP CHAIN CAM CHAIN
Loosen the crankcase bolts in a crisscross pattern in
CRANKCASE BOLTS
2 or 3 steps and remove them.
Place the crankcase with the left crankcase down
and separate the right crankcase from the left crank-
RIGHT CRANKCASE
case.
LEFT CRANKCASE
Remove the following:
– two dowel pins
DOWEL PINS
