CYLINDER/PISTON REMOVAL
CYLINDER REMOVAL
Remove the cylinder head (page 9-11).
Remove the two bolts, oil pressure switch wire
clamp and PAIR check valve (page 6-79).
Remove the bolt and O
Release the water hose from the clamp.
Remove the following:
– two bolts and water hose clamp
– bolt
– cylinder
– gasket
– two dowel pins
Clean off any gasket material from the cylinder mat-
ing surface.
PISTON REMOVAL
Place a clean shop towel over the crankcase to pre-
vent the piston pin clip from falling into the crank-
case.
Remove the piston pin clips with pliers.
Push the piston pin out of the piston and connecting
rod, and remove the piston.
