FUEL SYSTEM (PGM-FI)
4. MAP Sensor Input Line Inspection
Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Connect the ECM test harness to ECM connector
(page 6-14).
Turn the ignition switch ON and engine stop
switch "
Measure the voltage between the test harness
terminal and ground.
Connection: A6 (+) – Ground (–)
STANDARD: 4.75 – 5.25 V
Is the voltage within 4.75 – 5.25 V?
YES
NO
5. MAP Sensor Output Line Short Circuit Inspec-
tion
Turn the ignition switch "OFF".
Disconnect the test harness and ECM 33P con-
nector disconnected.
Check for continuity between the sensor unit 5P
(Black) connector terminal of the wire harness
side and ground.
Connection: Yellow/Orange – Ground
Is there continuity?
YES
NO
MIL 7 BLINKS (ECT SENSOR)
• Before starting the inspection, check for loose or
poor contact on the ECT sensor 3P (Gray) con-
nector and recheck the MIL blinking.
1. ECT Sensor System Inspection
Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Connect the test harness to ECM 33P connector
(page 6-14).
Turn the ignition switch ON and engine stop
switch "
Measure the voltage at the test harness termi-
nals.
Connection: A24 (+) – A4 (–)
Standard:
Is the voltage within 2.7 – 3.1 V?
YES
NO

– Open circuit in Yellow/Red wire.
– Replace the ECM with new one, and
recheck; refer to Key Registration Proce-
dures (page 23-4)
– Short circuit in Yellow/Orange wire
– Replace the sensor unit with a new one,
and recheck (Faulty MAP sensor)
".
2.7 – 3.1 V (20°C/68°F)
– • Loose or poor contact on the ECM
connector
• Intermittent failure
– GO TO STEP 2.
