General notes about maintenance work

Unintentional starting of the drive unit
Secure the drive unit to prevent it from being started up unintentionally.
Attach a warning notice to the start switch.
NOTICE
Improper maintenance
Only authorized qualified personnel may perform the maintenance and servicing. Only
original parts supplied by Siemens AG may be installed.
Only qualified personnel may perform the inspection, maintenance and service work.
Carefully follow the General information gearbox (Page 403).

Monitor and check the geared
motor for unusual noise, vibra-
tions, and changes.
Check the housing temperature.
Check the oil level.
Check the oil level sensor
Check the oil quality.
First oil change after commis-
sioning.
Subsequent oil changes.
Visual inspection of the gear-
box and shaft sealing ring for
leaks.
When required, replace the
breather valve.
Clean the gearbox.
Carry out a complete inspection
of the geared motor.
Check the friction clutch and
adjust if necessary.
