Faults, causes and remedies

Note
Faults and malfunctions that occur during the warranty period and requiring repair work on
the gearbox must be remedied only by Technical Support. If faults occur without a clearly
identifiable cause, Siemens AG recommends the services of the Technical Support even after
the warranty period has elapsed.
If you need the help from the Technical Support, please have the following information
ready:
• Rating plate data
• Nature and extent of the fault
• Suspected cause

Remedy
Check the oil level (Page 435).
Checking the oil quality (Page 438).
Cleaning the geared motor (Page 363).
