9.2 Replacing the converter

Recycling and disposal
For environmentally-friendly recycling and disposal of your old device, please contact a
company certified for the disposal of waste electrical and electronic equipment, and dispose
of the old device as prescribed in the respective country of use.
9.2
Replacing the converter
For the G115D motor-mounted converter, you can replace either the Electronic Module or
the complete drive (geared motor + G115D motor-mounted converter).
For the G115D wall-mounted converter, you can replace either the Electronic Module or the
complete converter.
You may only replace a converter with a new one under the preconditions given later in this
chapter. After the replacement, you must transfer the settings of the replaced converter to
the new converter.
Precondition
The following two prerequisites apply for replacing the converter:
• The new converter's firmware version is equal to or higher than the replaced converter.
• The new converter must have the same frame size and the same or higher power rating as
those of the replaced converter.
Unexpected machine motion caused by incorrect converter type
Replacing converters of different types can result in incomplete or incorrect/inappropriate
converter settings. As a consequence, unexpected machine motion, e.g. speed oscillation,
overspeed or incorrect direction of rotation. Unexpected machine motion can result in
death, injury or material damage.
• In all cases not permitted according to the above requirement, you must recommission
