CODE NO.47 CMP SENSOR CIRCUIT (Page 1 of 2)
(SENSOR SIGNAL NOT INPUTTED FOR 2 SECONDS AT ENGINE CRANKING)
STEP
Is CMP sensor installed properly and coupler

connected securely?
1) Disconnect coupler from CMP sensor.
2) Check for proper connection to CMP sensor at
each terminal.
3) If OK, turn ignition switch ON and check for
voltage at each terminal of sensor coupler

disconnected.
Terminal "B)" : 10 – 14V
Terminal "Vout" : 4 – 5V
Terminal "GND" :
Is check result satisfactory?
Was terminal "Vout" voltage out of specification in
Step 2 check?

1) Turn ignition switch OFF.
2) Disconnect couplers from ECM (PCM).

3) Check for continuity between "Vout" terminal of
CMP sensor coupler and engine ground.
Is continuity indicated?

0V
:: With immobilizer control system
YES
Go to Step 2.
Go to Step 4.
"B/W" wire open, short or
poor connection, If wire
and connection are OK,
substitute a known-good
ECM (PCM) and
recheck.
Go to Step 5.
1. Battery positive voltage
2. Main fuse box
3. "FI" in fuse/relay box
4. Main relay
5. ECM (PCM)
6. CMP sensor
7. Rotor
NO
Correct.
Go to Step 3.
"R/B" or "B" wire open,
short or poor connec-
tion.
"B" wire open, short or
poor ground connec-
tion.
