6E1-36 ELECTRONIC FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM (G13/G16 ENGINE WITHOUT WU TWC)
CODE NO.31 MAP SENSOR (MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE SENSOR)
CIRCUIT
(SIGNAL VOLTAGE LOW – LOW PRESSURE – HIGH VACUUM)
Disconnect MAP sensor coupler with ignition switch
OFF.
With ignition switch ON, is voltage applied to "P" wire
terminal of MAP sensor coupler about 4 – 5 V?
Check MAP sensor referring to "MAP SENSOR" in this
section.
Is it in good condition?
Disconnect MAP sensor hose from MAP sensor. Place
finger against the end of disconnected hose and check
that vacuum is felt there when engine is running.
Is vacuum felt there?
"G" wire shorted to ground circuit or poor MAP sensor-
to-coupler connection.
If wire and connections are OK, intermittent trouble or
faulty ECM (PCM).
Recheck referring to "INTERMITTENT AND POOR
CONNECTION" in Section 0A.
NOTE:
Upon completion of inspection and repair work, perform final check, referring to "FINAL CHECK" in this section to
confirm that the trouble has been corrected.

poor C6 connection.
If wire and connection are OK, substitute a known-
good ECM and recheck.

body and MAP sensor.
