6A3-64 ENGINE MECHANICAL (J18 TYPE ENGINE)
PISTONS, PISTON RINGS, CONNECTING RODS AND CYLINDERS
NOTE:
When removing and installing piston and connecting rod assembly, engine should be stable with front
torque bush and rear mounting bush and rear mounting installed to mounting member.
REMOVAL
1) Disconnect negative cable at battery.
2) Drain engine oil.
3) Drain coolant.
4) Remove cylinder head.
Refer to item "VALVES AND CYLINDER HEAD" in this section
for removal.
5) Remove oil pump with oil pump strainer.
Refer to item "OIL PUMP" in this section for removal.
6) Mark cylinder number on all pistons, connecting rods and con-
necting rod caps.
7) Remove rod bearing caps.
NOTE:
To remove No.4 piston, remove dynamic damper from
mounting member.

3. Oil ring
4. Piston
5. Connecting rod
6. Connecting rod bearing cap
7. Connecting rod bearing
8. Piston pin
9. Piston pin circlip

11. Oil pump
12. Oil pump sprocket cover
