6E1-28 ELECTRONIC FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM (G13/G16 ENGINE WITHOUT WU TWC)
CODE NO.14 ECT SENSOR (ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR)
CIRCUIT
(LOW TEMPERATURE INDICATED, SIGNAL VOLTAGE HIGH)
Disconnect ECT sensor coupler with ignition switch
OFF.
With ignition switch ON, check voltage at "Lg/R" wire
terminal of ECT sensor coupler.
Is it about 4 – 5V?
Using service wire, connect ECT sensor coupler termi-
nals.
Check voltage at "Lg/R" wire terminal of ECT sensor
coupler with ignition switch ON.
Is it below 0.15V?
"G/R" wire open or poor C12 connection.
If wire and connection are OK, substitute a known-good
ECM (PCM) and recheck.
NOTE:
Upon completion of inspection and repair work, perform final check, referring to "FINAL CHECK" in this section to
confirm that the trouble has been corrected.

NOTE:
When Code Nos. 14,21,23 and 32 are indicated together,
it is possible that "G/R" wire is open or C12 terminal
connection is poor.
"Lg/R" wire open, poor C5 connection or "Lg/R" wire
shorted to power circuit.
If wire and connection are OK, substitute a known-
good ECM (PCM) and recheck.
Poor ECT sensor-to-coupler connection or faulty ECT
sensor.
If connection and ECT sensor are OK, intermittent
trouble or faulty ECM (PCM). Recheck referring to
"INTERMITTENT AND POOR CONNECTION" in
Section 0A.
