TROUBLESHOOTING (DTC P1600)
STEP
1 Was ENGINE DIAG. FLOW TABLE performed?
2 Signal Voltage Check.
Check voltage between terminal E92-31 and body
ground with ignition switch ON.
Does voltage repeat 0 – 1.5 V and 4 – 5 V?
3 Is it about 4 – 5 V at Step 2?
4 Signal Circuit Check.
1) Disconnect TCM coupler with ignition switch
OFF.
2) Check voltage between E25-27 terminal and
body ground with ignition switch ON.
Is it about 4 – 5 V?

ACTION YES
Go to Step 2.
Intermittent trouble or
faulty ECM or TCM.
Check for intermittent
trouble referring to "Inter-
mittent and Poor Connec-
tion" in section 0A.
"G / W" wire open, poor
E25-27 connection or
TCM power or ground
circuit open.
If wires and connections
are OK, substitute a
known-good TCM and
recheck.
Check TCM power and
ground circuit open.
If OK, substitute a
known-good TCM and
recheck.
NO
Go to ENGINE DIAG.
FLOW TABLE.
Go to Step 3.
Go to Step 4.
"G / W" wire shorted to
ground or poor E92-31
terminal connection.
If wire and connection
are OK, substitute a
known-good ECM and
recheck.
