6E1-24 ELECTRONIC FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM (G13/G16 ENGINE WITHOUT WU TWC)
A-2 MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LAMP ("CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT) CIRCUIT
CHECK
("CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT DOES NOT LIGHT BUT ENGINE STARTS.)
STEP
1) With ignition switch turned OFF, disconnect couplers
from ECM (PCM).

2) Ground terminal "A7" in coupler disconnected.
3) Does malfunction indicator lamp ("CHECK ENGINE"
light) turn ON at ignition switch ON?
Is coupler connected to ECM (PCM) properly?

1. ECM (PCM) coupler disconnected
2. Body ground
3. Service wire
1. Battery positive voltage
2. Main fuse
3. Ignition switch
4. "IG" fuse in J/B
5. Malfunction indicator lamp
("CHECK ENGINE" light)
6. Combination meter
7. ECM (PCM)
YES
Go to Step 2. Bulb burned out, "V"
wire circuit open or
"B/W" wire circuit
open.
Substitute a known- Poor connection.
good ECM (PCM)
and recheck.
