SECTION 02 ENGINE
SUB-SECTION 09 (CARBURETOR AND FUEL PUMP)
INSTALLATION
To
install carburetor(s) on engine,
inverse removal
proce-
dure.
However,
pay attention
to the
following:
-
Apply
a thin layer
of silicone sealant
between
carbu
-
retor rubber flange
and
intake
cover
on
engine
.
-
Apply Loctite Lock'n Seal
242
on
bolts retaining rub
-
ber flange to intake
cover.
-
When installing
throttle cable end
in throttle
slide,
hook
up
cable
by using the
stopper at
the
extremity of
the
cable.

CAUTION: The rubber flange must be checked for
... cracks and/or damage. At
assembly,
the flange
must be perfectly matched with the air intake manifold
or severe engine damage will occur.

permit the installation of a nylon bush ing between the

CARBURETOR ADJUSTMENTS
Idle
speed screw
Air
screw

Air screw adjustment
Comp letely close the air screw (until a slight seating re-
sistance is fe lt) then back off as specified
(Refer to Section
09-02
" Technical Data" for the
speci

fications) .
Throttle slide adjustment
WARNING: Ensure the engine is turned
OFF,
prior to the throttle slide adjustment.
