Digital squelch functions

The digital squelch opens only when receiving a signal
addressed to your own call sign, or a signal that in-
cludes a matching digital code.
You can silently wait for calls from others.
You can independently set the Digital squelch function
in the VFO, Memory, CALL channel, or DR modes.

meter shows the received signal level.
NOTE:
• DO NOT use the digital code squelch function when
communicating with two or more stations, because
the digital call sign squelch function opens only

be used when communicating with only one sta-
tion.
• While operating in the low-speed data communica-

ing a signal is not addressed to your own call sign.

IC-7100 is two months old. Power suddenly cut off. Fuses are OK. No obvious damage internally. Can something with the control head cause unit not to power up?

Yes, a control head issue can cause the Icom IC-7100 to not power up. The control head receives power through the extension cable with shielded RJ45 connectors. If there is high resistance in the power wires or a poor connection in the umbilical cable, it may prevent the control head from receiving enough power to function properly. Reseating both connectors may help resolve the issue.
