Platform Description
Removable Media Bay Support
The DVD/CD-ROM drive is installed in a sheetmetal carrier and is inserted from the front of the
chassis. The tape back-up drive is also installed from the front of the chassis. The user must switch
off system power and remove the top cover to remove or install these devices.
Platform Board Set
This section highlights the main features of the board set. The board set contains the following:
One main board
Up to four memory boards
In addition, the server contains the following system boards:
Front panel board
SCSI backplane board
Power distribution board
SATA-to-IDE Adapter board
The following figure shows a block diagram of the system and the board set within the system.
