FIGURE 4 MODULAR OVERVIEW
For an overview of the theory of operation of the Figure 4 Modular, please see the
The Figure 4 Modular is a fully modular printer, meaning that additional Auxiliary Print Units may be added to the system as
your need for production throughput heightens. You may have up to 23 Auxiliary Print Units for each Base Unit you own. The
Base Unit, the smallest orderable configuration of the Figure 4 Modular system, includes one Controller and one Printer. This
makes a total of 24 possible printers for each Controller. The Controller and Printers work together as one, integrated system
via site networking.
The following sections will go into greater detail of each of these modules.
3.1 Figure 4 Modular Components
Controller - Houses the touch screen user interface, control computer, and inputs for network cable and power.

Printer - Houses a print engine, material-delivery module (MDM), pneumatics system, and exhaust system.
