Controller
There are two ways to shut down the Controller:
1. Flip the power switch above the power inlet to the
O position. Doing this will stop the print queue from
processing, but will NOT stop any current print jobs.
Please see the section
information.
2. Go to Settings > System Controls and tap the Shutdown
button. If shutting down in this way, to turn the Controller
back on: toggle the power switch on the back to the 0
position, and then back to I.
6.11 Firmware Update
The Figure 4 Modular has two sets of firmware:
1. Drives operation of the Controller
2. Drives operation of a Printer
6.11.1 Controller Firmware Update
The process of obtaining the firmware-update file is different depending on whether you are doing USB upload or an update
over network (not yet supported). This update file contains install files for both the Controller and Printer firmware. Regardless
of the way in which the update file is loaded onto the machine, the rest of the process is the same.
USB File Upload
1. Obtain the latest firmware file from the
Downloads
page. Ensure you are selecting the firmware
download for the Controller, rather than for the Printer.
Transfer the file to your USB drive, ensuring that the .wcu
firmware file is the only file in the root folder of the USB
drive.
