If the controller seems to be overheated, use this procedure to troubleshoot what
might cause the problem.

Make sure that the controller is switched on.
Wait 30 s - 1 min to enable start-up sequence.
Check the FlexPendant for errors and warnings.
DANGER
Troubleshooting on the controller while powered on must be performed by personnel
trained by ABB or by ABB field engineers.
Action
Check that the external fans are working.
Check that the internal fan is working.
Check that the power unit fan is working.
Inspect the air filters to make sure they are clean.
If the problem remains, troubleshoot the power
unit and/or the drive unit.
